Ossiacher See Trail
This stretch is very beautiful, but also very challenging. Therefore a piece of advice in advance: the walk can also be divided across two days. One day the north short, then the south shore. The boat takes us back to the starting point in each case. The start is in Annenheim. We walk in the direction of Gerlitzen Kanzelbahn and then uphill to Sattendorf.
As a voluntary extra task, we can go on a detour to the Finsterbach waterfalls. Back on the path, it continues a little steep to the Gerlitzen mountain road and on path no. 3 in the direction of Winkl Ossiachberg. The path then leads uphill towards Golk.
The hiking path no. 41 leads to the Steindorf waterfall and then it is only a short stretch to the boat jetty in Steindorf. Here it is possible to return by boat, but we walk on and follow Dammweg through the Bleistätter Moor nature reserve as far as Alt-Ossiach. In the nature reserve, the moor towers afford a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape.
The forest promenade leads to the access to Schluchtweg, which leads as part of the Alpe-Adria-Trail steeply uphill to the Tauernteich. Via Obersakoparnig and Oberwinklern we follow the course of the Ossiacher Tauern as far as Jungfernsprung and on to the Landskron castle ruin. The last section follows along the west shore in a northern direction and back to Annenheim.
