Landskron Castle and Restaurant

Landskron Castle is one of the landmarks of the region and from spring to autumn a great excursion destination. From the terrace of the café there is a breathtaking view over Villach Region and onto the magical alpine landscape of Carinthia.

Eagle Arena at Castle Landskron

Falconers Franz Schüttelkopf and Michael Holzfeind founded the bird of prey centre high up on Castle Landskron over 35 years ago. It has not only become a magnet for visitors but also an internationally recognised centre for the conservation of birds of prey with a state-of-the-art quarantine and care unit.

‘Monkey Mountain‘ Adventure at Landskron Castle

‘Monkey Mountain’ in Landskron is an attraction for young and old, as well as scientists from around the world, because on this 4-hectare wooded and fenced-in property, around 180 Japanese macaques live as in the wild, neither tamed nor domesticated.

Burgherrenrunde

A wonderful family walk along easy and well-maintained forest paths by the western foothills of the Ossiacher Tauern. Here the path takes us on a historical tour through flora and fauna to breathtaking views and idyllic forest ponds. After a brief toll road ascent to the castle ruins, we start by the castle pond.
