Stand-up-Paddling & kayaking
Explore the lakes and rivers of our vacation region on your own and discover them up close - the best way to do this is with a stand-up paddle (SUP) or a kayak. Enjoy the peace and quiet and explore hidden bays and beautiful shorelines from a different perspective. Whether you have your own equipment or hire it from one of the numerous rental stations on spot, you can easily try out paddling or kayaking and discover the region's special places.

Stand-up paddleboarding
What looks pretty easy from a distance does in fact call for good balance and strong body muscles. SUP is a fantastic workout that’s also a huge amount of fun. For stand-up paddleboarding you need a SUP board and a paddle. SUP boards were specifically developed for this sport. They look similar to a surfboard, but actually SUP boards are considerably longer, broader and - above all - more stable. In addition to the conventional boards there are also inflatable boards with multi-piece paddles that can be easily packed into the boot of a car.
Stand-up paddling at lake Faaker See:
From May to October, stand-up paddling at lake Faaker See is chargeable. Tickets are available at the local tourist information in Drobollach and Faak am See.
Rental points and SUP schools
There is a multitude of providers of both rental boards and SUP courses in the region. You will find lists of both on www.paddelstadt.at
Free of charge lake access:
You can find a list of all free of charge lake access points in the region, allowing you to launch your SUP, here.

Kayaking
You will normally stay dryer in a kayak than on a stand-up paddleboard, but you may need to practice a little more to control your kayak. With a double-bladed paddle you will stay seated as you navigate our rivers and lakes.
Rental points and training courses:
Here, too, there are many places where you can hire the equipment you need. You will find a list of them on www.paddelstadt.at
