Lake Ossiach

The largest free lake access on Lake Ossiach is offered by the new lakeside resort in Bodensdorf (Fischerweg 8). There is an adventure playground for children and a lakeside terrace with an appealing selection of food and drinks. Paid parking is available directly in front of the entrance to the lido (day ticket € 6.00).

In Steindorf you will find the inconspicuous lake entrance with parking facilities at the Ossiacher See Halle. Walk past the Nagele campsite along the gravel path until you arrive directly at the lake. Wooden benches invite you to linger and enjoy.

If you are looking for a quick dip, then the "mini beach" in Bodensdorf is just right. If you are coming from Villach along the northern shore on the R2 "Ossiacher See Radweg" cycle path, you will see a transformer house on the right-hand side just after the village of Bodensdorf. Turn right here and after about 130 m you will reach the lakeshore and the free access to the lake on a path between two well-kept hedges.

Another free alternative on Lake Ossiach is the St. Andrä bikebeach run by the town of Villach. Two bathing jetties and a shore area filled with round gravel make the excursion perfect. If you don't come to Lake Ossiach by bike anyway, you can park your car south of the road for a fee of 2.40 euros per day.
