‘Monkey Mountain‘ Adventure at Landskron Castle
‘Monkey Mountain’ in Landskron is an attraction for young and old, as well as scientists from around the world, because on this 4-hectare wooded and fenced-in property, around 180 Japanese macaques live as in the wild, neither tamed nor domesticated. You can enjoy observing these wild animals up close under expert guidance during a walk through the enclosure. You will see how the macaques raise their young, manage their coat care and perhaps even observe them swimming and diving. ‘Monkey Mountain’ Landskron is a popular centre for a variety of scientific research projects.
If you would like to spend more time with the monkeys and observe them as closely as possible, then consider a private tour. During this tour you will have the opportunity to feed the animals yourself, explore their habitat beyond the path and learn more about current research being undertaken into the Japanese macaques here at ‘Monkey Mountain’.
